ESS: Rayen

My Equine Secret Santa gift for ~ThraxzGirl of her character Rayen.

Whew! Finally finished. I thought we had until Christmas, but when I looked just now to check the rules before uploading it I saw that today was the deadline. So glad I decided to finish.

But I seemed to have trouble with this. I couldn't really get the sketch to turn out right. I finally was happy enough with this one, but I still don't think it looks like the character should. And then... since I'm feeling really stressed about Christmas I kept feeling all stressed about this, and about doing art. I meant to get a lot of gift art done, and make my yearly reindeer for people... but it just didn't happen.

I do like the snow, though (especially the hoofprints)! And even though I really love the outcome of realistic shading and whatnot, it was kind of fun to go back to cell shading. And as you can see I tried that weird cell/gradient mix... it's ok, but not my thing, I don't think.


So, I really hope you like it, ~ThraxzGirl! Even though I didn't feel that I could get down her look, I hope I got all of her markings and stuff correct! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
