Personality:
Not exactly shy, Tucker can be more correctly described as quiet. Unlike his last name would suggest, he doesn't like to be the center of attention, and would prefer to be alone rather than in a large group. This isn't to say that he isn't friendly though, and that he won't speak up in class if he knows the answer. And if the class is Care of Magical Creatures you can bet that he does know. He loves to be active, and outdoors, especially if it is something involving animals.  This makes him a very hands on learner, preferring to try things rather than read about them. Unfortunately, Tucker can become rather jealous of people who do get good grades in all their classes, or in those classes that he is not good at.

History:
Tucker grew up to two muggle, veterinarian parents just outside the town of Bath in Somerset, England. They passed on their fondness of animals to him, and he was one of those children always bringing home one animal after another that was hurt or just needed a warm place to stay and a meal. His parents allowed him, of course, and he gathered quite a collection of pets over the years. One of these pets was a mean little hedgehog, looking a little worse for wear, which he had found in the hedges around their backyard one afternoon. This turned out to be his first encounter with the magical world, as, unbeknownst to him at the time, it was in fact a knarl and not a hedgehog.

He also picked up his parents knack for healing, and it was only once he started to show a certain... gift for it, such as healing minor wounds while seemingly doing nothing, that his parents began to wonder if there was something different about their son. They encouraged his abilities, though, as even at that age they could tell he would possibly not have the school grades when he was older to get into vet school, and they wanted to let him keep some thread of hope. But Tucker knew that being able to fix small cuts and sneezes in the smallest animals wouldn't get him his veterinarian license, and by the time he got his Hogwarts letter he was starting to doubt his grades as well.

The letter was certainly a shock, and they thought maybe a joke at first, but as his parents started to read up on it they began to realize it was true, and to be extremely excited for their son. Tucker had been excited all along, and, usually not one for reading, had looked up all he could about magic. Particularly magical animals. It was during this time that he realized that Skips - his hedgehog - was actually a knarl. And that he could possibly be a veterinarian of sorts for magical animals, because it seemed that schooling for that was a bit different than schooling for muggle veterinarians. It depended more upon knowledge of the animals than all subjects together. From that moment on he never looked back, and couldn't wait to start at Hogwarts.

It turned out to be everything he hoped, though he was sad to see he wouldn't get to start Care of Magical Creatures right away, and still had to learn some boring things such as History. But now he is about to start his third year, and thus Care of Magical Creatures, and he couldn't be more excited.
